Getting to Know Me: A Little More About My Journey with Jumping Spiders

Hi everyone. My name is Andi. I started this business, Andi's Antics, formally a few weeks ago. I am not one of those people who loved spiders all their life. In fact I was quite terrified of them. Then a few years ago, while scrolling through TikTok, I came across a page where the creator was using videos of little jumpers to educate her viewers about these adorable little creatures. I started watching these little things and it was adorable. I had always been one of the "Burn the house down" type of people when I saw a spider. Now not at all. I've even held my husband's larger tarantulas. The jumpers have stolen my heart. So much so that I am educating everyone I can about them.

It all started with a hitchhiker. My husband Tony, and I went on a trip to Nebraska to see my best friend. On the way home we stopped at a gem mine in Georgia. We then continued on our way. We got home and discovered a small tan jumping spider in the car. I did not know if she could be released here so we set up an enclosure for her. The next morning she was gone and I was more than a little upset over it. I had named her Charlotte (very original I know). Tony went to the exotic store to get some food for our son's Chinese water dragon. He came home with a jumper for me. She was a little orange girl we named Penelope. A few days later, my son found Charlotte on the ceiling in his bedroom. The rest, as they say, is history.

I now have about 60 regal jumping spiders (Phidippus Regius) of various ages, from i5 to adult. I have three moms sitting on egg sacs and about 400 slings that are becoming available in the very near future (some are ready now and in the shop at andisantics.store.

I have learned that Jumpers are like potato chips, you can't have just one.
